Item Ref: 31002
This is one of our favourite items. Another item that has both historic and rarity value, and in its current form is a true one off.
The item started its life in the late 1800’s, in the Victorian era, as a brass desk lamp for a library or wealthy student. In its original form it was designed to burn oil or kerosene but has been sympathetically updated and electrified. This is a classic example of a historic item that has a purpose and place in todays world.
We commissioned the most recent restoration of this item by well known and incredibly well respected restorer, Jolene Farmer, of Salvage Hunters fame. It retains its original features including the tube column oil reserve and ring finial, without its shade but includes a beautiful and modern bulb. We have had this rewired (see the beautiful new modern but period looking cordage, new plug, switch and lamp fittings) and this has been PAT tested by Jolene Farmer.
The item is made out of brass and is of great quality having lasted well over a 100 years.
A fantastic historic piece that would look stunning in any setting.
