Elkington & Co silver plated pair of candlesticks

In original unpolished condition, and based on the hallmark, believed to date to 1893. This pair of beautiful Victorian candlesticks have a square base with a tapering and fluted pillar, with lovely detail. A pair of beautiful and historic items with age related wear. Please see photos.

Elkington & Co are a well known and important historic manufacturer of English silver and silver plate. Originally based in Birmingham in 1836, they discovered and patented a new way to electroplate one metal on to the surface of another.
