Antique wooden foot stool

A lovely hand carved oak wooden stool, dating back to the 1830’s.

Turned legs, barley twist stretcher and an intricate decorative carved pattern on the top and around the edges. This is in worn and used condition (please see photos) but strong and stable and ready to be used.

Stamped ‘L’ underneath. This could be the makers mark of Gillows of Lancaster & Waring, a well known cabinet maker with a high standard of craftsmanship.

A great practical historical item that can be used for so many different things such as a plant holder or small coffee table.
